This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of companies that The TeamBuilders Group does not own or control or that The TeamBuilders Group does not employ or manage.
WHAT IS “PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION”?
This Privacy Policy discusses the concept of “Personally Identifiable Information” or “Personal Information” and the way that it is collected and used by The TeamBuilders Group. Personal information is information about an identifiable individual and includes information which specifically identifies an individual, such as a name, address, telephone number, email address, or other account number, and information about that individual’s activities when directly linked to that person. Personal information also includes demographic information, such as date of birth, gender, geographic location and preferences when such information is linked to other personal information that identifies users.
Personal information does not include “aggregate” information. Aggregate information is data we collect about a group or category of products, services or users, from which individual user identities have been removed. In other words, information about how you use a service may be collected and combined with information about how others use the same service. Aggregate data helps us understand trends and our users’ needs so that we can better consider new features or otherwise tailor our Services.
AGE RESTRICTIONS
Our Services require that all users are old enough to form a binding, legal contract with The TeamBuilders Group (usually this age is 18 years old). If you are younger than the age to form a valid, legal contract with us, you must get your parent or guardian’s permission to use our Services. It is very important that you read this Privacy Policy and our corresponding Terms of Service with your parent or guardian so you understand the rules of conduct that correspond with the The TeamBuilders Group Services.
PRIVACY PRACTICES FOR STUDENTS UNDER 13 YEARS OLD
The TeamBuilders Group is a tool used by teachers, schools, school districts, parents and students meant for classroom use; guided classroom exercises; and out of classroom, teacher guided exercises. In some instances, student participants may be under thirteen years of age. The TeamBuilders Group takes children’s privacy very seriously. It is The TeamBuilders Group policy to prohibit the collection of information from children under 13 until we first obtain consent from the child’s parent/legal guardian or through the child’s school or teacher.
How Does The TeamBuilders Group Obtain Parental Consent?
The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) requires us to obtain parental consent from a child’s parent or legal guardian before we can collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. Therefore, we only collect personal information through the Services from a student under 13 where that student’s school, district, or teacher has agreed to obtain parental consent for that child to use the Services and disclose personal information to us. Our Terms of Service explains more about the parental consent process.
The TeamBuilders Group requires that schools, districts, or teachers obtain verifiable parental consent through the use of permission slips or other verifiable district policy. To provide consent to use the program, a parent or guardian, or teacher with appropriate permission, must first read our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service and either sign the permission slip on their child’s behalf, or act as an authorized agent of the school. The TeamBuilders Group requires that each participating school, district, or teacher keep the signed permission slips or other verifiable district policy on file at all times.
If we discover that we are collecting information from students under 13 years old without parental consent, we will permanently delete this information as quickly as we can. If you believe that a student participant under the age of 13 has violated our policy and may be participating in the The TeamBuilders Group Services without parental consent, please notify us immediately at jordan@teambuildersgroup.com.
If you are a teacher, school, or school district, by using The TeamBuilders Group Services, you warrant that you have the authority to act on behalf of the entity for which you purport to act and have the authority to bind said entity into a contractual relationship. This authority will be used in lieu of a paper permission slip.
